Ron T. Purpura

He’s been around the world, but is truly a native to Pittsburgh, Pa. His roots are from there and will always be a Pittsburgher at heart. A strong work ethic was instilled into him by both his Father and Grandfather. Ron’s Grandfather was the first wholesaler of bananas into Pittsburgh.  His Grandfather taught him that there are two things that nobody will give you, one is respect and the other is money, you have to earn them both! Ron’s Father was a Pharmacist and owned a very successful Pharmacy.

Starting out his career he gained his MBA in finance, became employed on Wall Street and worked his way up to Sr. Vice President with Kidder Peabody & Co. doing Corporate and Public Finance along with dealing with High Net Worth Individuals. Ron has lived in South Florida since 1980 and retired in 1994 when Kidder Peabody sold to Merrill Lynch, and has since been involved in Corporate Consulting, Finance and Real Estate working with Developers on commercial projects.

Ron also traveled the globe on board various cruise lines as a guest lecturer on finance. He was fortunate to experience many different cultures and meet many interesting people. Other than working he likes to put his focus on golf. Ron has been playing competitive golf since he was young, and has participated in many PGA Pro-Am tournaments around the country. Boating is another life long passion so it was natural that he has taken up scuba diving since moving to Florida, and is NAUI Advanced and Nitrox certified. Ron loves South Florida and all the great water activities that are here. For him this is Paradise.

Ron is a member of an Endowment & Investment Committee for a Florida Non-Profit Corporation that oversees 100 million dollars in assets. He enjoys being active in the Shrine Hospitals and is proud of the great care that are given to the children they help.
